Watch the LG Seamless Entertainment TV AD that features the LG SL9000 LED TV. Airing in the UK from the begining of November it highlights the features and benefits of this new LED back-lighting on LCD TV’s. The SL9000 comes in two models the 42 inch 42SL9000 and the 47 inch 47SL9000. Currys and Dixons are stocking the SL9500 which is their own branded LG LED TV.

It appears that the SL9000 is slightly more expensive than other LED TV models but with it’s energy efficient LED backlighting that can save up to 40% on power costs, that may be enough to offset the costs and get the excellently styled TV.

LG SL9000 Borderless Design HD LED TV

LG have released a promotional video on YouTube for the Borderless slimline TV the SL9000.

This is the kind of “reception-video” that would be shown at HQ or for showing the features at a tradeshow or in a promotional event. While we still wait for the release date and some to hit the shops, it does highlight what a good-looking TV this is.

The super-skinny side profile is hardly thicker than the glass screen on a CRT TV. The electronic wizardry that is able to cram in all the great features and also hide speakers is amazing.

The demonstration highlights the different modes available in both LED and LCD TV’s and the power savings that are available.

LED technology has obvious power advantages whilst not sacrificing picture quality and functionality. The location of the TV effects the mode required. In a bright room such as a conservatory, vivid mode is required but when using the TV to provide audio such as satellite or cable radio then the video/mute mode can be used. The mode setting is also depending on the type of content being shown.

The TV’s have LG’s Intelligent Sensor built in so that you do not have to keep pressing the green button (ironically!) to change the mode and save power.
